The following applies to all rental bookings commencing after 8th June 2015, for drivers who hold a UK mainland driver licence issued by the DVLA.

As of Monday June 8th, the DVLA stopped issuing the paper counterpart part of the driver licence and those currently in circulation will no longer have any legal status and should be destroyed.

For rental bookings starting on and after 8th June 2015, where you require Vehicle Hire insurance, we will have to check your entitlements and endorsements using the DVLA "Share My Licence" service.

For us to be able to do this, you must acquire a unique code from the gov.uk website and share this with us when you pick up your vehicle. We will then use this code to validate your entitlements and endorsements. Please save this code as a screenshot on your phone or in printed format.

Details of how to use this service are provided on the DVLA website here (opens new window)

IMPORTANT, you can only access this service up to 21 days prior to the vehicle pick-up for the access code to be valid for us to check your details.
